Summer Day Camp Details:
  • The camp schedule is meticulously planned with stimulating active, creative, and educational activities with sufficient breaks and relaxation periods.
  • Children are divided into two age groups: 6-9 years and 10-13 years.
  • This weekly summer camp Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 3 PM, runs for 8 weeks during the summer.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Geocache Scavenger Hunt
Engage in a technology-assisted scavenger hunt that teaches navigation and problem-solving.
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch Break
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Free Time/Hikes
Rotate between different hikes throughout the week:
Day 1: Scenic Overlook Hike
Day 2: Suspension Bridge Loop Trail
Day 3: Upper Middle Creek Falls Exploration
Day 4: Free choice or repeat favorite hike
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Weekly Activity
Full Mountaintop Zipline Tour, advanced craft projects, or additional team-building games.

Staffing and Safety

Camp Leaders: Two leaders per group, ensuring a high level of supervision and engagement. North Carolina recommends 1:25 for school-aged children.
Safety Protocols: Detailed emergency procedures to maintain a secure environment utilizing HAP’s existing Emergency Action Plan.
