Convenient and remote? You bet. We’re just 9 miles from Highlands and 5 Miles off U S Hwy 23/441. Our entrance is on Dillard Road/Hwy 106, but you’ll quickly escape into the forest and feel worlds away.

⚠️Alternate Routes Due to Dillard Road/Hwy 106 Closure!! Dillard Road (HWY 106) will be closed at the Blue Valley Overlook between Scaly Mountain and Highlands due to road repairs to damage caused by Hurricane Helene. The closure is expected to last until January 2025.
If you are traveling from GA or NC on HWY 441/US 23, you should not be affected. If you are traveling from Highlands, Cashiers, or the surrounding areas, please take the Gorge Road/Highlands Road/US 64 to Franklin, NC to Georgia Road/HWY 441/US 23 to Dillard, GA. Turn left on Dillard Road/Hwy 106 and go 5 miles to Highlands Aerial Park.
October Hours Highlands Aerial Park will remain open 7 days a week through Sunday, October 27th.
November Hours We will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from Wednesday, October 30th through Sunday, November 17th.
Thanksgiving Hours We will be open 7 days a week from Wednesday, November 20th through Sunday, December 1, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The Town of Highlands is Open! Highlands area businesses, shops, and restaurants are OPEN and eager to welcome you! Scaly Mountain, Highlands, and the surrounding areas were largely unaffected by Hurricane Helene, especially compared to some of our neighbors in Western North Carolina. The Nantahala National Forest (all developed recreation sites, trails, and roads) is open. Check https://www.fs.usda.gov/nfsnc for specifics.
