Youth Adventures

Ziplines, the Giant Mountain Swing and team building in the temperate rainforest near Highlands, North Carolina and Dillard, Georgia. Built around your goals, with every detail handled for you.

Built for Young People

Built around your goals

Every trip starts with one question: what should be different about your students when they head home?

Everyone takes part

Feet on the ground or in the trees. Everyone’s in, nobody’s left out.

Educational field trips

STEM comes alive here. Gravity, speed and pendulums stop being words on a page when students feel them on a zipline and the Giant Mountain Swing.

Seamless start to finish

A one-page plan, a simple agreement and online waivers parents sign from their phone. Our team handles every detail.

Two Kinds of Days

Come for the fun, come to learn, or mix the two. You choose when we plan.

Team bonding

Just for fun

Ziplines, the Giant Mountain Swing and Zippy’s Treetop Adventure. No lesson plan and no agenda. Your class shares a great day and heads home closer.

Experiential education

Learning by doing

Team building and educational programs built around your goals, with guided challenges and time to talk it through. Here’s how those programs work.

Experiential education

How a Program Works

Classes don’t come together all at once. They grow closer one shared challenge at a time.

1

We start with one question

What should be different about your students when they go home? Everything is built backward from that answer.

2

Students learn by doing

Activities, conversations and challenges for each student and the class as a whole. Everyone takes part.

3

Then we talk it through

We stop and reflect along the way, where mistakes become information, not identity.

Experiential education

What Kids Take Home

Feedback feels usable, not personal. Stress becomes a signal, not a threat. “I can’t” becomes “not yet.”

Plan It Your Way

Fun days, educational field trips, senior days, grade trips, clubs and teams. Pick the shape that fits your day.

Half day

Zip and connect

A zipline tour or a focused team building program, then time together on the deck.

Full day

The whole adventure

Team building in the morning, lunch at the park, then ziplines, the Giant Mountain Swing or the Dual Tree Climb.

Multi-day

Overnight trips

Two days or more, with evenings at the group campsite and fire pit.

At your place

We come to you

We bring team building and experiential education to your campus, from a short session to a full day.

Younger grades? Zippy’s Treetop Adventure is built for kids 4 and up, with no height minimum.

Questions

Is it safe?
Safety comes before speed, comfort or flow, every time. We’re an ACCT accredited operation. Our course, trees and swing are inspected every year by outside experts, and every zipline tour has two trained guides with every group of up to 10.
What if a student is nervous or scared of heights?
That’s normal, and it’s often where the biggest growth happens. Our first lines are low and slow, guides coach each student at their own pace, and nobody is ever pushed. Classmates cheering each other on does a lot of the work.
What if a student can’t or doesn’t want to go in the trees?
They still take part. Team challenges happen on the ground, and every student has a role. Everyone’s in, nobody’s left out.
Can chaperones take part?
Yes. Chaperones are welcome to join in or cheer from the ground. We’ll talk through chaperone numbers when we plan your day.
What ages can come?
Zippy’s Treetop Adventure is for kids 4 and up, with no height minimum. Zipline tours are for ages 8 and up, at least 54 inches tall in shoes and 70 to 250 pounds. We’ll send the full list for every activity and match the day to your grade level.
Can you work with medical, physical or learning needs?
Yes. Tell us what your students need when we plan, and we’ll adapt wherever we safely can. We can’t make medical calls, so if you’re unsure about a student, check with their doctor first.
How do waivers work for students?
Everyone signs a waiver online before the trip. For students under 18, a parent or guardian signs. We send you one link and a QR code to share with families.
What should students wear?
Closed-toe shoes, athletic clothes and layers. No tank tops, since harness straps aren’t made to sit on bare skin.
How long does the day take?
As long as your schedule allows. We build the day around your bus times and when you need to be back, from a few hours to a full day or overnight.
Are there restrooms?
Yes, at our base. There are none out on the course, so students go before their tour starts.
Are photos included?
Yes.
What if it rains?
Tours run rain or shine. If lightning or high winds close the course, we’ll work with you on the next step.
Where do we eat lunch?
You have lots of options. We can arrange catering from the new restaurant at Highlands Outpost, Blue Hound Barbecue or the Vineyard at High Holly. You can bring your own and use our barbecue grill or griddle. Or do what Tallulah Falls School does and bring your cafeteria or catering team along. Our decks and community tables have room for your group.
What does it cost?
Every program is priced for your group, your goals and your dates. Tell us your budget and we’ll build the day to fit it. Our free funding guide shows grants that can help pay for it.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as you have dates in mind. If you’re applying for a grant, give yourself 6 to 8 weeks before the trip.
